12-34 is a clear, water-based concrete curing compound that is formulated to ensure proper concrete strength development, prevent shrinkage cracks and leave a bondable surface for further coatings, treatments or flooring. This membrane-forming cure will not discolor concrete surfaces, nor does it need to be removed before applying further surface coatings. 12-34 is a premium cure, sealer, hardener and dust-proofer for new or aged concrete surfaces.

Application
NEW CONCRETE:
Horizontal floors and slabs: After bleed water has disappeared and surface can support the weight of the applier, apply 12-34 with a low-pressure sprayer such as a Chapin sprayer equipped with a fan tip that produces a flow of 0.3-0.5 gal. (1.14-1.89 L) per minute under 40 psi (0.276 MPa) of pressure in a uniform and continuous manner. (See prescribed coverage rate table at left.) Avoid over-application. Do not allow material to puddle on concrete surface.
Vertical concrete
After stripping vertical framework, immediately apply 12-34 with a sprayer. Hold spray tip approximately 2 feet from the surface and apply in a uniform and continuous manner at 400-500 sq. ft./gal. Do not apply when temperature is below 40°F (4°C). Do not apply 12-34 over free-standing water.
SUBSEQUENT COATINGS
Allow new concrete to cure for 28 days before applying paint or other coatings. Application procedures do not supersede further surface coatings – see manufacturer's instructions.
Drying Time
At 72°F <50% humidity
Dry time to touch: 1 hr.
Light foot traffic: 2 hrs.
Normal traffic: 4 hrs.
Shelf Life
1 year in unopened container. Store above 40°F (4°C). |
Limitations
Must be agitated prior to use.
Do not dilute or alter in any way.
Do not apply to frozen surfaces or when temperature is below 40°F (4°C).
Protect material from freezing.
If white crystals begin to develop, this is an indication that too much material has been applied. Rinse over applied areas with water and squeegee off remaining puddles.
If material is sprayed on glass or other finished surfaces, quickly wipe up with warm soapy water.
May not be suitable on colored concrete applications. Always perform a small test or mockup.
Check with coating manufacturers for their preparation guidelines. These instructions do not supersede their guidelines. |
Cleanup
12-34 may be cleaned from equipment using soap and warm water. If material is accidentally sprayed on metal, aluminum, glass or painted surfaces, rinse immediately with water.
